TUTORIAL: Turkey Huntress Repair...

Body: Ertl Outdoor Sportsman Turkey Huntress figure, stamped "MG Action." (I just call this body the "Earlene" for short.)

When I pulled out my Cammy to examine her a couple of days ago, her left thigh fell apart in my hands. It broke along its weld. I do not have any plastic epoxy on-hand, but I thought that I would give my [Testors] plastic model cement (in pen form) a try. I have had no such success with Mattel/Barbie bodies before.

I applied the cement to its edges and two internal posts, making sure to steer clear of her hip & knee joints. I used rubber bands to hold her thigh together while it cured and checked it in 24 hours. The two halves remained broken.

I applied the cement one more time. This time, I applied pressure to the two pieces for 15 minutes before I applied the rubber bands. And after 24 hours, it held! (I even picked at the seam a little just to be sure.)
