ArtiBabs' knee joints often become loose as they age. What follows is a trick to tighten them. [Caution: try at your own risk; no method is 100% foolproof.]
Materials you will need:
A #6 nylon flat washer,
Needle-nose pliers,
Wire cutters,
A flat-head screwdriver (helps)
#6 Nylon Flat Washer Shown
Using the wire cutters, cut a triangular piece out of the washer to form a C-clip.
Using the pliers, press the cut section of the washer hard.
Place the C-clip jaws-first into the gap in her knee. (I used the medial gap.) Using the pliers & screwdriver, press the clip until it snaps around the knee's axle, inside.
Knee Fully Extended
Knee Partially Lowered
(Would this be considered Rockette science...?)
I like the way they seem to participate in the surgery. I've photo-cartooned several joint replacements and re-body/headings
